For centuries, Islamic geometric design craftsmen sought to create sacred art to support spiritual life. In this painting, golden Hands of Fatima embellish a twelvefold geometric pattern from the Tomb of Bibi Jawindi, Uch, Pakistan (AD 1494/ AH 899). Dreamy washes of vermilion, magenta and violet give the surreal impression of being drawn into the warm heart of the cosmos.
