From the perspective of an expat, this painting explores the sense of mystery experienced regarding the private nature of local Emirati culture. Notwithstanding the feelings of disconnection, the sacred Arabic letters and pomegranates (symbolising abundance and good fortune) acknowledge the rich local culture and tremendous opportunities offered to expatriates living in the Emirates.
